The MusicianShip Summer Music Program at Ketcham Elementary is a five-week musical experience for students enrolled in Washington D.C. elementary or middle schools. From 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, students will be engaged and enriched as they are taught essential components of drum line such as sight-reading, technical proficiency and performance execution. This camp exposes students to a performance oriented musical experience with a final performance on August 1st at Woodrow Wilson High School.

CFE Summer is a full-day 9 week summer program for underserved children. Participants have the three hours each morning for tennis play with a trained coaches and the afternoon hours for educational enrichment and fun through robotics, chess, reading, games and computer play sessions. Participants in grades 5-12 have the opportunity to attend WTEF’s annual weeklong trip to the American Tennis Association (ATA) Tournament and visit universities and colleges in conjunction with the ATA.

This program give youth the awareness and opportunity to prepare for a STEM education that excites them—through the creative and confidence-building aspects of dance.Students code computer graphics that complement the dance that are projected onto the stage; other times, Students will be taught to wire battery-powered light circuits. They sew them into their dance costumes to create splashy light effects synced to a song’s beat. Instructors also use movement to teach math and science concepts.
